I'm so glad you like Tea With Jane Austen. I am intriqued by a comment in the Bas Bleu review, which led me to chose this book for your present. In Jane's novels, how does the way a character drinks her tea indicate her character or lack thereof? (I wish that 'their' were grammatically correct here, 'his or her' is so awkward but otherwise one must chose between the two.)Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21116761.post-1137689769335730742006-01-19T08:56:00.000-08:002006-01-19T08:56:00.000-08:00Hi! I hope your books are worth the effort, but one can never have too many books, can one? And in lieu of sending an e-mail, I'll just tell you that I'm reading a book called "The Roots of Desire: the Myth, Meaning, and Sexual Power of Red Hair" by Marion Roach. So far it's really interesting, but heavy so I can only read it in doses.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21116761.post-1137682318669021332006-01-19T06:51:00.000-08:002006-01-19T06:51:00.000-08:00Have you read "The No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency"...Have you read "The No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency" by Alexander McCall Smith? It's not about dentists, and the mysteries aren't mostly murders, but you might like it anyway. I was visiting my mother this last weekend, saw the five-book series on the shelf, and have now read the first two. They're charming. --DavidAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
